This calculator gives you a complete picture of what your solo cruise will actually cost — not just the advertised cabin fare.
Fill in each section from top to bottom. Your total updates live in the sidebar as you go.

Section 01
Cruise Basics
Enter your cruise length and the number of port days. Input your base cabin fare (the advertised price before the solo supplement). Use the slider to set your solo supplement percentage — most cruise lines charge 50–100%, but it can go higher. Add taxes, fees, and port charges from your booking confirmation.
Section 02
Onboard Packages
Enter any pre-purchased packages — beverage, Wi-Fi, specialty dining, spa, or casino credits. If you haven't purchased anything yet, leave at $0. These are often the biggest hidden cost, so compare package prices vs. paying as you go before booking.
Section 03
Gratuities
Option A: Enter your cruise line's daily gratuity rate (typically $16–$22/person/day) and the calculator auto-multiplies by your cruise length. Option B: If already prepaid, enter that amount directly. Add any extra cash tips you plan to leave for specific crew.
Section 04
Travel
Toggle between Flying, Driving, and Train. Enter all costs round-trip — to and from the port. Flying: include round-trip flights, ride-share to/from the airport, pre-cruise hotel, and airport parking. Driving: include gas (round trip), tolls, port parking (often $20–$30/day), and any pre-departure hotel night. Train: include round-trip ticket, station transfers, and any pre-cruise hotel.
Section 05
Port Day Spending
Set how many port days include a paid excursion and your average excursion cost. Remaining port days calculate separately — enter what you spend on your own (food, transport, shopping). Sea day spending covers onboard extras not covered by packages.
Section 06
Other Costs
Travel insurance is strongly recommended for solo travelers — budget 5–8% of your total trip cost. Add clothing or gear purchases, passport renewal fees if needed, and a buffer. A $100–$200 buffer is a minimum; $300+ is smarter for longer sailings.
Pro tip: Run this calculator twice — once with realistic numbers and once with worst-case numbers (all packages, excursions every port day, full buffer). The gap between those two totals is your true risk range. Book only when you're comfortable with the worst case.
